Swing the Bat feels like a kid’s cartoon. The arcade game uses the simplest player interaction by only using a single finger to control Swing the Bat. But at its core, Swing the Bat is one of the best family games to enjoy.
The cartoon style is perfect for the game, mimicking a morning cartoon in design and style. There is nothing extremely amazing about the visuals of Swing the Bat, but it does get the job done.
Swing the Bat has players controlling a bat that swings through the levels with the help of his extended legs. Grabbing trees and rocks, the bat uses pendulum physics to propel him through levels collecting fruit while gaining the temporary ability to fly.
Featuring only a couple levels, Swing the Bat provides a lot of challenges that open new costumes for the bat to wear during the game. The goal of the challenges does not always focus on distance, but could focus on swinging from tree to tree or collecting a defined number of fruit.
There is a good amount of difficulty in Swing the Bat because the game features only two levels. Movement in Swing the Bat is determined by an optional swing meter that can display the best release point. Since some of the challenges do not always consider distance, there is a good amount of experimentation available.
Kids will enjoy the game because the challenges take some practice to be successful and there are plenty of different challenges to complete. Older players may find the game a little repetitive because of the lack of variety.
Swing the Bat is great for younger players, but it may not be challenging enough for older users.
